The congregation also successfully completed four major building campaigns during this time. The staff grew from one full-time and one part-time to nine full-time and numerous part-time workers. Charles earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and Preaching from Johnson Bible College and a Master of Divinity from Emmanuel School of Religion. He and his wife, Ruth, have six married children. Aside from his ministry, Charles enjoys golfing, traveling, visiting the family farm in Virginia and spending time with his nineteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Charles serves as a Trustee of Johnson Bible College and is on the Board of Associates in Christian Education at Emmanuel School of Religion. Counting his student ministry in Kentucky, Charles completed 50 years of preaching ministry in September 2007 when the role of Lead Minister was turned over to Steve.
